Exciting Future with Employment Services Holdings (ESH)

24th November 2016

ESH Group announced today that it had reached an agreement with Karingal Inc., to acquire the company.  Karingal is a large not-for-profit community organisation that has been operating for over 60 years.  The organisation delivers a wide range of disability, employment, aged care and training services, across many locations throughout Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.

Operating since 1998, Karingal’s Matchworks division provides employment services under the DoE jobactive, Disability Employment Services (DES) and Work for the Dole (WfD) contracts.

Under the agreement, Karingal Inc. will acquire all of ESH Group’s operations, including Job Active provider Employment Services Group (ESG) and recruitment and labour hire business IPA Personnel.

Outgoing ESH Group CEO, Steven Donegan, said “ESH Group is very excited by Karingal’s acquisition, as it will allow the Group to leverage Karingal’s extensive network and expertise to bring employers and jobseekers together, thereby continuing the Group’s mission of positively impacting people“.

IPA Personnel’s COO, Paul Barbaro, added “This is a wonderful acquisition and represents substantial opportunities for IPA.  As one of Australia’s oldest privately-owned labour hire businesses and with clients demanding innovative solutions to their recruitment needs, this acquisition offers the opportunity for both businesses to leverage off one another and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients, candidates and staff”.

Mike McKinstry, CEO of Karingal Inc., said, “This acquisition provides Karingal with the opportunity to continue in delivering and supporting clients and job seekers in the employment sector.  The increased geographical coverage and income diversification will allow Karingal to continue to advocate for people with a disability and those who are disadvantaged in the community”.

Every day the ESH group puts 150 people into work and last year we placed more than 53,000 people into meaningful employment, many of whom were long term unemployed or highly disadvantaged. Others were leading executives in corporate Australia, as well as people simply wanting to make a change. 78% of people placed remained in work for 13 weeks or more, making the ESH group one of the industry's highest performing organisations.
